Family Medicine

The military Family Medicine Residency (FMR) program is the newest Air Force Family Medicine program with the initial class of residents graduating in 2012. Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center is the primary site of resident rotations, with additional rotations completed at:

  • University Medical Center (UMC) – Trauma, Adult ICU
  • Sunrise Children’s Hospital – Lab & Delivery, Inpatient Pediatrics, NICU
  • Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada – Community Medicine
  • Nevada State Veteran’s Home - Geriatrics
Residents also have the opportunity to complete rotations at Yosemite National Park or Alaska (wilderness medicine), Creech Air Force Base, and various military or civilian facilities around the country.

  • State-of-the-art fitness center on base
  • On base child care for ages six weeks to five years
  • On base school PreK through 8th grade
