The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

During this partial government shutdown, the Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center – Nellis Air Force Base remains open and continues to honor scheduled medical and dental appointments. Our patient appointing service is open and we're still taking requests for appointments. We're doing our best to minimize impact on our beneficiaries and their health care. The Hospital’s Emergency Department, Operating Room, Primary Care and Specialty Care services are fully operational. Ancillary services (pharmacy, laboratory, radiology) also remain operational. As always, safe and high-quality health care remain our priority. Please call 702-653-CARE (2273) to schedule or cancel appointments. For questions about TRICARE during the shutdown, please visit www.tricare.mil/shutdown.
