Critical Care Unit (CCU)
Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center’s Critical Care Unit (CCU) is a 12-bed intensive and intermediate care ward that provides ready, reliable care to adults in in need of advanced care and monitoring. The CCU operates 24/7/365.
The CCU is located on the third floor, utilizing the B elevators.
Who We Serve
We serve TRICARE beneficiaries, VA patients and civilian ambulance arrivals.
Services
Treatment services include:
- Management of acute medical conditions that require advanced care by highly trained staff to treat critically ill patients.
- Management of acute and chronic conditions that require less attention than critical illness but require more advanced monitoring and care than can safely be provided by our multi-service unit.
Visitation
Visitation hours are from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Each patient is limited to two visitors at a time, with no overnight guests. Guests under the age of 12 are not permitted. Guests under the age of 18 must always be accompanied by an adult other than the patient.
Visitors are asked to maintain a quiet environment during shift changes between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
The CCU is an entry-controlled unit and visitors must ring the bell for entry. Visitors are required to check-in with staff before visiting.
