Best S.E.L.F. is a comprehensive, 3-module program that focuses on four critical components of performance: Sleep, Activity, Mindfulness, and Nutrition to help participants become stronger, faster, leaner, and mentally sharper. Best S.E.L.F. is also designed to help individuals achieve a healthier lifestyle while learning how to maintain a healthy body composition now and for a lifetime.  Each participant will set their own personal wellness goals and identify behavioral changes to meet these goals.

Lifting 101 (Free Weight or Machine) is a one-hour class designed to welcome you into the Fitness Center. Learn the fundamentals of resistance training, technique, and form. You will also get to try new workouts and exercises while having your questions answered by a trainer. A form PAR-Q is required prior to attendance.

This class is designed to help individuals understand the intricacies of running while preventing injuries. It includes comprehensive information about running mechanics, injuries, goal setting, progression and rest/recovery. The class also links the importance of having a balanced workout, noting the effects muscle imbalances have on a running gait. Finally, this class provides useful resources to help individuals meet or exceed their running goals. A running assessment can also be completed at the member’s request.

This smartphone app provides a real time, custom fitness/strength and conditioning plan to help you meet your personal fitness goals. You can communicate with a coach on the feed to adjust the workout to best meet your needs. Physical Training Leaders and Unit Fitness Program Managers can also communicate with a coach regarding a unit-specific workout plan. This class teaches participants about the science of sleep, including sleep cycles, disorders, and the impact on health and productivity, while also providing practical strategies for improving sleep quality and duration.
